About Ella Coleman
Hello I’m Ella Coleman and your reigning Miss Teen United States. I am a senior at my local high school. I am proud to be the founder of my non-profit organization Accessible Community Tutoring (ACT) . I was inspired to create ACT by my own experience as an under-resourced students, growing up without the tools I need to succeed in my academics was hard and as a tutor myself and the founder of Accessible Community Tutoring I provide a tutor session for one hour with my volunteers in my community to help students fulfill their own personal goals. Once a week I host Zoom meetings with a group of girls who have volunteered to help in our community by creating study sets, donating flashcards, pens, and other resources that some students don't acquire. Twice a week I organize volunteers to tutor and mentor by going to local schools that are under-resourced and have one-hour tutor sessions for students who need individual time. Within my platform, I advocate inclusiveness and mentor others to build strong support in my community and meet students' individual needs that they may not get in a classroom of 30-35 other classmates. My career ambition is to attend college and major in education, with my degree I want to go into teaching and have my own Montessori school. Since I was a little girl aged six playing teacher for fun, I have always wanted to fulfill my dream of being a teacher. I want to create a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow according to their individual needs.
